Frya Fresena

"Frya Fresena" is a beautiful barge moored in Londons Docklands at Canary Wharf. She was built in 1925 in Holland as a Luxemotor cargo barge. She was extensively reconstructed in 1997 to a very high standard and converted for private cruising. The present owners purchased her in 2001 and arranged for her interior to be further converted to a luxury cruising / live-aboard barge, capable of navigating all the continental European canals. The conversion work included the fitting of a modern German integrated kitchen, with Bosch dishwasher, bathroom with bath and Bosch washing and drying machines, a combination boiler and central heating system, new electrics and a maple real-wood floor throughout.
She is ideal as both a luxury live-abaord houseboat and a very well equiped cruising barge. Most of the fixtures, fittings, furniture, soft furnishings, mirrors, spare parts and tools are included in the sale.

The air draft is reduced to 2.35m when upper the section of the wheelhouse is lowered, which is done hydraulically.
INTERIOR DETAIL
The comfortable and spacious interior is extremely well constructed in timber with solid mahogany doors and real maple flooring throughout. The open plan designer Kitchen has a white ceramic sink, full height pullout rack storage, carousel corner units, and a range of storage both under the counters and in wall hung units. The equipment includes a tall, built in Bosch fridge, a LG combination microwave and convection oven, a glass topped Zanussi four-ring gas hob, a Bosch extractor and a Bosch dishwasher.
The Lounge is very large with lots of natural light from the windows on both sides. From the lounge there is corridor access to Two Cabins each with double beds, two built in wardrobes and under bed storage.
The Bathroom is situated to the front of the boat and has fitted units matching those in the kitchen. It has a Bosch washing machine, laundry basket and drawers built under the work surface, and a Bosch dryer fitted into an airing cupboard with wire drawers for linen storage. It also has a white ceramic Villeroy and Boch basin under a contemporary designer mirror. The bath is steel with a Hans Grohe shower unit and a glass shower door. The modern ceramic flushing lavatory is wall hung.
EXTERNAL DETAIL
She has a painted French navy blue hull with black anti-fouling, light blue decks and white wheelhouse sides. The wheelhouse has double glazed windows on all sides providing all round vision and has a skylight hatch.
There is a huge flat deck area on the roof that is 4m x 11m with a stainless steel railing surrounding it, providing an attractive sundeck and dining area, perfect for entertaining or just for relaxing and enjoying the view.
MECHANICAL DETAIL
The 200hp engine, installed in 1997, is a Mercedes Benz six cylinder with grid-water cooling and has only done 1,786 hours. The exhaust system has a hospital silencer and is fully lagged throughout.
There is a powerful 16 kVA generator powered by a 1,500rpm Deutz F3 diesel engine, which has done only 457 hours. The barge has both 24v and 240v AC electrical systems with a domestic battery bank of four heavy-duty 120Ah batteries connected to a Mastervolt 24/1500 inverter and battery charger.
The water tank has a capacity of some 7000ltrs. The lavatory is connected to a 350 litre black water tank with deck pump-out or sea pump out. The fuel tank capacity is 1800ltrs.
Heating and hot water are provided by a diesel-fired combination boiler, with seven radiators throughout the barge giving more than enough heat to keep it cosy on even the coldest winter nights.
LOCATION
The fully transferable unrestricted use mooring is at Poplar Dock Marina, a very attractive and highly sought after mooring location with a 6 year waiting list as the marina has an exceptional sense of community and an ideal location being 10 minutes walk from Canary Wharf with its Jubilee line tube station and 5 minutes walk from Blackwall DLR. These moorings have full facilties (including showers, toilets, washers and dryers) secure parking with CCTV, post room and a security guard. While moored up the boat is connected to water, elecrtic and telephone lines with broadband access.
